Regional Chairman's Welcome

Welcome to the North Wales website. It is here for the use of all sailors in the region, and the content should reflect your needs. Particular thanks must go to Alex Morrison, at PDSC/CHYF for hosting the previous North Wales Regional Website on our behalf for the last year, and for keeping it up to date.

As the new Chairman of the North Wales Regional Committee of the WYA, I would like to take this opportunity, of thanking Ken Newing, the outgoing Chairman, for all his hard work over the past few years, and for the continuing hard work that he is still doing for us within the Committee.

I would also like to thank Ken's Club, CHYF/PDSC for providing one of the three excellent venues for our Regional Open Training this winter, along with Dovey Yacht Club and Shotwick Lake Sailing Club, and a big thank you to all the parents, coaches and other helpers, without whom none of this would happen.

The North Wales Regional Committee of the WYA exists to further the ideals and aims of the WYA - and is also a channel of communication between the clubs in the region, the WYA and ultimately the RYA as the UK’s national association for all forms of recreational and competitive boating. As such, all clubs in the region are encouraged to send a representative to the committee, where they will be made most welcome, bringing with them any problems or suggestions that can be shared, as other clubs will probably have had, or are having, similar problems before, and if not, solutions can normally be found.
